DERBY!

It's Derby time in the city!!!! Lots of fun things go on in our city this month, and the hot air balloon race is my favorite among them.  I woke the boys up to head to the race this year and we had one fun adventure!
 Balloons everywhere!
They loved waving and yelling goodbye when the balloons each took off.
Love these boys and had so much fun with them!
Harrison and I snuck out one early morning, while the rest of the family slept, to go to Dawn at the Downs.  My sweet Aunt Sis got us into the backside with all of the news folks, horse stables, trainers, jockeys, etc.  It was really, really cool to be in the thick of it all.
Mike Tirico was standing right next to us as we watched the Derby and Oaks horses walk from the stables to the track for their workout.
Harrison's Derby pick this year, Patch!
Harrison with his float for his school Derby parade- his theme was the Olympics.
Our neighborhood Kroger makes the garland of roses for the winning Derby horse each year and invite the city to come watch the night before Derby. We were excited to see....and to "walk" the red carpet!
